I was recently told that all roller derby names need to be unique and registered. Looking into this, it turns out that several months after this comic was written, Tamora Fierce became someone’s real roller derby name. There is no way it’s a coincidence, right?

Side shot of Wren. Sam enters.
SAM: Hello everyone, sorry I’m late.
Wren is up and pushing Sam back out of the room, Sam looks shocked.
WREN: Can we talk outside for a moment?
SAM: Wren! What - what are you doing here?
WREN: I was observing MCU’s anime club for my introduction to anthropology class, but you’re suddenly a perfect interview subject for my project in WTF 101.
